Evolution of EMC UN ECE Regulation R10.07

Since June 2025, it is possible to apply the new release of UNECE R10. Several major modifications have been added in this new version, among them, the most noticeable, the immunity extension to 6 GHz.

The presentation will go through R10.07 and presents the main evolutions and associated impacts for the people intending to homologate their 2 / 3 or 4 wheel cycles, passenger cars, vans, bus, trucks, trailer, agricultural vehicle and all vehicle covered by R10.

Challenge and future of ADAS testing in immunity

ADAS functions are strongly emerging in automotive industry and their performance regarding EMC is becoming a major concern to secure the functional safety of the vehicles. The testability of these functions is consequently at the center of discussions in international standardization committees. The different and complementary approaches considered there will be exposed in this presentation.

Radiated emission during dynamic driving condition

The electromagnetic emissions generate by vehicles change substantially during dynamic driving conditions leading to situations in which the radiated emission limits are surpassed. Very often, these signals show different behavior and manifest themselves differently based on the vehicle ‘s technologies (e.g. BEV, PHEV, FCEV). The presentation provides experimental evidence of various kinds of signals emitted during accelerations, decelerations as well as at different constat speeds.

Automotive EMC Testing under Dynamic Conditions

With the development of electrified powertrains and ADAS/AD fulfilling EMC requirements becomes more and more challenging.  This is mainly driven by the fact that conducted and radiated emissions from electrified vehicles are speed and load dependent. Dynamic EMC-testing becomes mandatory.

The impact of electro mobility on emission measurements against CISPR 12, CISPR 25 and CISPR 36

The automotive EMI standards CISPR 12, CISPR 25 and CISPR 36 are developing quickly to address the impact of electric and electric hybrid vehicles on the electromagnetic environment. This goes along with the demand to reduce test time and reliable recording of the disturbance characteristic of the device under test. Usage of FFT-based measuring instruments is the key for addressing these topics. The presentation will start with a short refresh on FFT basics from CISPR 16-1-1, will address the advanced aspects of modern EMI measuring receivers and will conclude with practical cases.
