Seminar Overview:

Join Rohde & Schwarz UK in 2 locations across England as we explore and demonstrate the capabilities of modern EMC.

Lee Hill and James Macalonan will be there alongside other Rohde & Schwarz experts to delve into new findings, demonstrate our products and solutions, and answer any questions you may have.

Agenda:

Registration 8:00-8:30AM

Getting Good with Ground part 1:

Many electrical and mechanical engineers have never attended a class or read a resource that clearly and correctly defined the word ground and its significance in electrical noise control. Yet sparks (electricians) always learn about ground and must pass tests to demonstrate their mastery of grounding. Lee will demonstrate and present intuitive ways to understand ground in electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and electronic enclosure installations.

Meaning of time:
The difference between dwell and sweep time, how adjusting time changes measurements, the variation in results of Spectrum analyzers and Receivers, and why does time matter? By the end of this presentation, alongside some practical examples, will we have the answer?

Demystifying Fast Fourier Transform (FFT):
What is FFT, and how does the measurement differ from traditional methods? Which standards have embraced FFT? The variations in how FFT is implemented, for example looking at Receivers and Spectrum analyzers, and the new kid on the block, the oscilloscope!

Getting Good with Ground Part 2:
Lee will continue to focus on the function and impact of ground on regulatory (EMC) and functional noise problems. The black magic of EMC will disappear after Lee’s presentation clearly and logically explains these ideas with his enthusiastic and animated style.

Ends 5:00PM
